Sharah Nicole

For 39-year-old Sharah Nicole, facing life’s obstacles serve as a gateway to a purpose-filled life.

Her brand, GreatHER Purpose, is all about doing internal work to establish alignment, release fear, and find purpose. The inaugural GreatHER Purpose Summit, scheduled for this Saturday, March 6, features a host of women who will share their journeys in tackling challenges and, ultimately, becoming stronger leaders.

This Power Platform feature explores the GreatHER Purpose brand and highlights from the upcoming summit.

Sharah Nicole, founder of the GreatHER Purpose Summit

May: Tell the readers a little about yourself.

SharahSharah Nicole: Well, in addition to establishing the GreatHER Purpose Podcast and Summit, I am the CEO of my own boutique PR firm, Go4It Communications, LLC, and I work as a prevention program manager in public health. I’m originally from Stockton, California, but I have been in South Georgia for several years.

May:  Awesome! So what inspired you to create GreatHER Purpose?

Sharah Nicole: It is kind of ironic because in 2014, I kept dreaming of the words, GreatHER Purpose. I discussed starting a mentoring program using that name with my friend, Valious Lucas, because I thought that was the direction I needed to go with it. However, I felt God telling me that I needed to experience more before the full breadth of GreatHER Purpose was revealed. Shortly after that, I began to experience a series of challenges and went through a very dark time in my life – all in the midst of dealing with the loss of my mother. I went through a process that drove me to strengthen my relationship with God, fully submit to Him, break unhealthy relational ties and connections, and realize that I wasn’t defined by those experiences. I got to a place where I could see within myself that I was worthy of love and substantial connections, and I began to love myself the way God loved me. Then the vision for GreatHER Purpose became clear.

May: So your personal experiences helped you establish the platform itself. What is the motivation behind the GreatHer Purpose Summit?

Sharah Nicole: I was interviewing the lovely fashion designer, Anna Battle, for a local news platform one day, and she said something to me that never left me. She told me that despite my experiences, someone needed to hear my testimony. She added that God would position me to encourage other women to overcome their life challenges. She saw something in me that I could not see in myself at the time. After a few years, prayer, and inspiration from others like my friend, Charity Daniels, I got to the point where it was time to walk in God’s direction and organize this summit.

May: What can attendees expect from the Summit?

Flyer with GreatHer Purpose Summit DetailsSharah Nicole: My prayer is that attendees walk away from the summit excited and inspired, not only to fulfill their purpose, but to step out on faith and walk in their truths.

The theme for the summit is “Purpose…Shine Bright Like A Diamond” and our featured speakers share varying perspectives on how they have discovered purpose in their respective journeys. I will deliver a keynote on the “diamond process” and share my personal struggles with self-esteem and confidence.

May: Tell me more about the speakers and entertainment.

Sharah Nicole: Well, I prayed for direction on who to include in this first summit, and God connected me with some phenomenal speakers who have been very supportive and consistent with me while I was going through my dark phase. All of them have either prayed with me, prayed for me, or supported me through my journey. They are all inspirational women and truly have something special to share.

My college mentor, Yaisa Mann, (who is absolutely amazing) has agreed to serve as a special guest speaker and deliver an awesome message titled, “Loose Leggings.”

Dr. Jamie Foster-Hill and Margrette Strother – two positive and influential women – will serve as co-hosts for the event.

My girls, B. Mack and Iborya, will use their beautiful voices to provide powerful entertainment during the summit. Both of these ladies have been extremely impactful for me – not only as singers – but also as friends who are full of life and laughter.

Guest speakers include Katrina Royal, Rico Bell-Tucker, LaToya Smith, and Krystal Thomas. Each lady inspires me because of her strength and boss mindset. Each one has a beautiful story to share.

May: How can people learn more about you and your initiatives?

Sharah Nicole: People can visit and subscribe to my YouTube channel, Go4It Communications, as well as the GreatHER Purpose podcast, which is available on all platforms. I am also available on Instagram and Facebook. My email address is [email protected].

Attend the Summit

A Note from Sharah : I pray that people see that it is never too late to grow and become one’s best self. Because of how I grew up and the relationships I attracted, I was late in life when I learned the importance of creating healthy boundaries and surrounding myself with positive people. The GreatHER Purpose brand is about doing the work to be in alignment and find truth without fear. Join us at the Summit and let’s discuss walking with purpose!
